Choose your starting point<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two main ways to create a flyer in Word, manually or by using templates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designing manually means starting from scratch, giving you complete creative freedom and the ability to fully personalize your flyer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The faster option is to use flyer templates\u2014pre-designed layouts you can easily edit and customize. In fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/641282\/smes-using-flyers-brochures-for-marketing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">79%<\/a> of U.S. small and medium-sized businesses use flyers and brochures as part of their marketing efforts. While templates may limit complete creative control, they greatly reduce the time and effort needed to produce a polished, professional design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A. Images &amp; visuals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember the saying, <em>\u201cAn image speaks a thousand words\u201d<\/em>? That\u2019s worth keeping in mind when designing a flyer. High-quality images grab attention and convey your message instantly. Articles with images receive <a href=\"https:\/\/worldmetrics.org\/visual-content-marketing-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">94%<\/a> more views than those without, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winsavvy.com\/flyer-marketing-key-statistics-and-effectiveness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">71%<\/a> of people who receive a flyer take action based on its content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Too add images in Word, click on Insert, Picture, and select the Search on Web option (you can also upload an image from your computer if you wish or search stock images). <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image6-1024x577.png\" alt=\"Insert picture in Word\" class=\"wp-image-89237\" width=\"840\" height=\"504\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Type a keyword related to the theme of your flyer to filter for relevant images. Content &amp; body text<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After adding a header, you&#8217;ll want to add text to highlight key details about your event, promotion, or messages (USP) to gain a competitive edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, I added a short &#8216;about us&#8217; section in my flyer.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image2-1024x618.png\" alt=\"Align content in Word\" class=\"wp-image-89252\" width=\"840\" height=\"504\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Pro tip:&nbsp;<\/strong>Avoid adding too much text as it can overwhelm people. Stick to bullet points or short paragraphs only. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, make sure your text is well-aligned and follows a clear hierarchy. Highlight the most important details in bold and use larger font sizes to make them stand out. As American journalist Jon Franklin once said, <em>\u201cSimplicity, carried to an extreme, becomes elegance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>D. Color scheme<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from text and images, focus on the colors in your flyer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose a color palette that compliments your message and brand. For example, if you&#8217;re creating a flyer to announce a cafe opening, use vibrant colors such as yellow or orange.
