Honestly, many writers I know would not be where they are without social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But what I\u2019m not a fan of is seeing the same terrible stock photos that people slap on their social posts.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m not going to lie, I used to take the easy way out and pick boring stock photos to \u201cspice up\u201d my social media posts. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that was almost 4 years ago, when a great stock photo could still stand out on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that <a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/incorporate-stock-photos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">everyone is using stock photos<\/a>, they just add to the noise, instead of helping you stand out from it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stock photos are boring, overused and don\u2019t really add anything to your content. Use bold and bright color schemes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A trend that I have seen taking over <a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/templates\/social-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media graphics<\/a>, and graphic design in general, are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/graphic-design-trends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bold and bright color palettes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As brands and designers move further away from minimalism that dominated the last decade, color will explode across their graphics. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, we are just seeing the first movers use this color explosion in their social media shares right now. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudways.com\/blog\/best-startups-watch-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tech companies and startups<\/a> are usually the first to take on a trend, and this one is no different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the past year or so, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebay.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eBay<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has fully embraced bold and bright colors across all of their branding:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Bright-Bold-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example-1.jpg\" alt=\"Bright Bold Social Media Graphic Design Example 1\" class=\"wp-image-32729\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These product shots with non-traditional color schemes pop on their site and on social media. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many will follow this trend eventually, but I think when they finally do try to use these color schemes, it will be too late. Just take a look at what the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harvard Biz Review<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been sharing lately:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Bright-Bold-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example-3.jpg\" alt=\"Bright Bold Social Media Graphic Design Example 3\" class=\"wp-image-32731\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They were founded in 1922 and if they are taking risks with color, so can your company! <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>2. Use icons to illustrate concepts<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I know that not every single company has the resources, or even a designer, to produce design their own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motocms.com\/blog\/en\/social-media-marketing-images\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media&nbsp;marketing images<\/a> from scratch. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why I wanted to share this simple social media graphic creation tip that I\u2019ve used many times throughout the years.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All you need is an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/infographic-design-6-ways-to-use-icons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">icon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that reflects the theme of the content you\u2019re sharing (check out our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/templates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">icon library<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for over 40,000 different icons) and a bold background color. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are some examples from our own social media pages: <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/templates\/banners\/popups--24493ec1-748f-446c-9028-0c8c74af86d7\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Icon-Heavy-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Template.jpg\" alt=\"Icon Heavy Social Media Graphic Design Template\" class=\"wp-image-32733\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<center><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/templates\/banners\/popups--24493ec1-748f-446c-9028-0c8c74af86d7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br><button class=\"btn-cta\">CREATE A SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHIC<\/button><br><\/a><\/center>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of these social media graphic designs are simple enough for you to create in a few minutes and share quickly and they won&#8217;t require any intensive graphic design resources.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, the icon creates a clear and focal point that draws the eye. Now compare those examples to this image:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Stock-Photos-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example-2.jpg\" alt=\"Stock Photos Social Media Graphic Design Example 2\" class=\"wp-image-32734\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This one is much more generic, isn\u2019t it? Something like this would fade into the noise that is the modern social network.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But if you\u2019re strapped for graphic design resources and still think using stock photos is your best bet, you can add some originality by using icons to augment photos. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, take a look at these social media graphics from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Axios<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Icon-Heavy-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example-2.jpg\" alt=\"Icon Heavy Social Media Graphic Design Example 2\" class=\"wp-image-32735\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They blend photos with icons to create whimsical, original designs. Kind of like a collage!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So take some advice from me and all these companies; invest in icons this year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>3. Create unique illustrations <\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of my favorite trends that I have seen take over social media lately is illustrated social media graphics.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They actually are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/graphic-design-trends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one of the biggest design trends this year<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s probably because not only are they fun to look at, they also can\u2019t be replicated by your competition the way a graphic using a stock photo can.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I mean, can you imagine scrolling past these examples from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/backchnnl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Backchannel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"504\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Backchannel-Illustrated-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"Backchannel Illustrated Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32736\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Me neither&#8211;they made me stop in my tracks. I am confident that even the most interesting stock photo you can find will not cause that kind of reaction.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>That feeling is what all of your social media graphic designs should do as well, no matter the platform. <\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But having someone to pay attention to your post is only half the battle, you also want them to click or share.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And in my opinion, illustrated social media graphics rise above the rest here too. Not only do they look great, they show the reader that you really care about the content that you are sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seriously, which shares would not only catch your eye but make you want to learn more? These vague stock photos:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"504\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Stock-Photos-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example-3.jpg\" alt=\"Stock Photos Social Media Graphic Design Example 3\" class=\"wp-image-32737\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or these illustrations from <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mailchimp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mailchimp<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"504\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Mailchimp-Illustrated-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"Mailchimp Illustrated Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32738\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technically, they both get the job done, but the illustrations have more going on and will definitely stand out in a social media feed.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slapping a stock image on a social media post literally the bare minimum you can do. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So stop doing that. Your readers will thank you with their clicks. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And to close this tip, I would like to show off this really interesting use of illustrations from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WIRED\/status\/940234667059499008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wired<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They use a handful of images to help people learn more about digital security:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Wired-Illustrated-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"Wired Illustrated Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32739\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each of these images are obviously illustrated, but they also are presented in a single Twitter thread. They could have just as easily used a bad stock photo&#8230;or no photo at all. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But solely through Wired\u2019s great use of illustrations, they grabbed my attention, made the content simple to quickly consume and left me wanting to learn more. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strive to cause that kind of action with your shares and you will succeed on social media. You need graphic design resources for this, but I&#8217;d probably say it&#8217;s well worth the investment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>4. Visualize data with charts and infographics<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most unique and versatile types of social media graphics you can create is a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/eye-catching-sales-charts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">classic graph or chart <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to go along with your content.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are writing interesting <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/data-visualization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">data-driven content<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you have probably already created a graph in the article or blog post. Why not use that on social media too?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seems like a no-brainer but so many people forget the power of a well made graph or chart.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With graphs, charts and infographics, you can quickly disseminate key information to your audience about the content they are about to read. And if it\u2019s interesting enough, they will want to click and learn more. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like in these examples from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.semrush.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SEMrush<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"578\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/SEMRush-Data-Viz-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"SEMRush Data Viz Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32740\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The graphs tell a key part of the story story, quickly and effectively. In a matter of seconds, you can see that content marketing is important and desktop is more popular than mobile. I also added text-heavy graphics to most of my other posts too.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kinda like these:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"246\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Text-Heavy-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"Text Heavy Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32742\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It honestly was the best thing I thought that a person with little design experience could do to differentiate myself from the others online. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus it was a lot more informative to potential readers than a simple stock photo.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have stopped creating these lately but I think they still can be used effectively, with a few caveats.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Obviously, it should be well designed and easy to read from every device. You don\u2019t want people squinting to try to see what is on your image. But also don\u2019t make it so large that the text is cut off in the feed.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you can find a happy middle ground, like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mention.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mention<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> did, you should be set:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Mention-Simple-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"Mention Simple Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32743\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even in that example in the bottom left, you can easily read even the smallest text. And it helps tell the reader or follower know what they are about to click on almost instantly.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another thing that Mention does well is add the company or person to an image, like they did with Soylent and Neil Patel. This is a easy way to add an image to an otherwise boring share and easily hack the influence of the subject. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using text and titles to grab the attention of your readers is pretty common in the marketing world too. They are able to mix the important text with some related icons to create an interesting social media graphic. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each part of the graphic can be used to grab the attention of someone scrolling through a feed, or add some additional context to the share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That said, each graphic doesn\u2019t feel overdone or too busy, which is a hard thing to achieve with this much visual content. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are leaps and bounds above what I was able to produce back in the day but with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Venngage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you can easily create something like this in a few minutes. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<center><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/templates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br><button class=\"btn-cta\">CREATE YOUR OWN SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHICS<\/button><br><\/a><\/center>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>6. Use pre-made social media templates to get you started <\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One way to upgrade your social media graphics is to start creating pre-made templates in bulk that you can use later on. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This tactic is great for someone who isn\u2019t a trained designer or doesn\u2019t have the time to create something new for each post. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-made templates may seem like they are all \u201cpaint-by-numbers\u201d graphics, but if you personalize them and incorporate your branding, they can still be quite unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a look at the examples from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/moz.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> below, in which they do exactly that:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"421\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/MOZ-Creative-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"MOZ Creative Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32746\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each of these social media graphics share the same general layout, which may seem boring, but they use it to their advantage. Because they don\u2019t really use any other graphics, this has become the \u201cMoz template.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People know a post came from them almost instantly because of the template. You could take off all of the branding and I would still know it came from Moz.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tactic is great for places, like Moz, that produce a ton of content and shares throughout the day. Now instead of needing a designer to create each of their featured images they can quickly swap the elements and build a unique graphic in seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/digitalcurrent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kissmetrics<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> takes the template graphics a little more literally, with only the text and images changing:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Kissmetrics-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"Kissmetrics Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32747\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Again, this can be used to increase your brand reach and power. Once someone knows that good content is tied to an image like this, they will want to click every time.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And finally, I would like to show that not every template has to be so rigid. Each of these social media graphics from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialmediaexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social Media Examiner<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> uses a flexible template:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"421\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Social-Media-Examiner-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example.jpg\" alt=\"Social Media Examiner Social Media Graphic Design Example\" class=\"wp-image-32749\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They may not be as similar as the other social media examples in this section but they also follow a template. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As you can see each has an icon on the left, with the text on the right and the website in the bottom center. Despite having differences, they still look like cohesive designs.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7. Create custom GIFS and cinemagraphs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everyone knows, and probably loves, GIFs. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are the little helpers we use to communicate visually with the world and create shared experiences. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of these GIFs are from a TV show or movie that everyone has seen, so they carry some significance. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, those types of GIFs are not going to cut it now that everyone is using them. You need to take it to the next level and maybe create some of your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/graphic-design-trends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">own custom GIFs or Cinemagraphs.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The one negative of using custom GIFs is that you are going to most likely need a designer\u2019s help. They are definitely above my skill level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that doesn\u2019t mean that they have to be overly complicated to succeed on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This GIF from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IBM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is very simple, with a few moving parts, and visually appealing at the same time. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GIF-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example4.gif\" alt=\"GIF Social Media Graphic Design Example4\" class=\"wp-image-32753\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each of their GIFs follows this same formula, which mixes simplicity with beauty to create something very relevant to the share. That isn\u2019t an easy feat to accomplish but it seems that IBM has almost mastered it. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GIF-Social-Media-Graphic-Design-Example1.gif\" alt=\"GIF Social Media Graphic Design Example1\" class=\"wp-image-32750\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also seem to tie in some of the tactics that we have discussed already!
