In case you haven&#8217;t read them, we recently wrote about\u00a0<a title=\"How to Use Infographics in High School Classrooms\" href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/how-to-use-infographics-in-high-school-classrooms\/\">how to use Infographics in high school classrooms<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0 presented\u00a0<a title=\"8 Examples of Incorporating Infographics in Middle School Classrooms\" href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/8-examples-on-using-infographics-in-middle-school-classrooms\/\">examples of incorporating infographics in middle school<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The following are some examples of how to align the Common Core State Standards with the use of infographics from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calacademy.org\/infographics-in-the-classroom-teacher-toolkit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California Academy of Science<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.kathyschrock.net\/2014\/01\/addressing-ccss-with-use-of-infographics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kathy Shrock&#8217;s blog<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>English Language Arts K-12 (from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.calacademy.org\/infographics-in-the-classroom-teacher-toolkit\">California Academy of Science<\/a>)<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Speaking and Listening: Comprehension and Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grades 9-10<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, Integration of Knowledge and Ideas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grades 9-10<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Translate quantitative or technical information expressed in words in a text into visual form (e.g., a table or chart) &#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">slate information expressed visually or mathematically (e.g., in an equation) into words.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Grades 11-12<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Integrate and evaluate multiple sources of information presented in diverse formats and media (e.g., quantitative data, video, multimedia) in order to address a question or solve a problem.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Evaluate the hypotheses, data, analysis, and href=\"http:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/CCRA\/R\/7\/\">ELA-Literacy.CCRA.R.7<\/a>\u00a0Integrate and evaluate content presented in diverse media and formats, including visually and quantitatively, as well as in words.\u00a0It would apply on how students can use data gathered online in presenting an infographic and how they can understand or interpret different media available online.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/CCRA\/W\/8\/\">ELA-Literacy.CCRA.W.8<\/a>\u00a0Gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, assess the credibility and accuracy of each source, and integrate the information while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quetext.com\/plagiarism-checker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">avoiding plagiarism<\/a>. When creating an infographic of their own, students carefully analyze all gathered information to ensure their accuracy and credibility. They can easily source the information on the infographic by providing works cited at the bottom.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/CCRA\/SL\/5\/\">ELA-Literacy.CCRA.SL.5<\/a>\u00a0Make strategic use of digital media and visual displays of data to express information and enhance understanding of presentations.\u00a0In creating an infographic, all types of media are used to be able to create a great presentation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/RH\/6-8\/7\/\">ELA-Literacy.RH.6-8.7<\/a>\u00a0Integrate visual information (e.g., in charts, graphs, photographs, videos, or maps) with other information in print and digital texts.\u00a0In an infographic charts are always combined with text. That is why it is called infographics: Information and Graphics.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/RH\/9-10\/7\/\">ELA-Literacy.RH.9-10.7<\/a>\u00a0Integrate quantitative or technical analysis (e.g., charts, research data) with qualitative analysis in print or digital text.\u00a0Every infographics requires analysis and great research.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/RST\/6-8\/7\/\">ELA-Literacy.RST.6-8.7<\/a>\u00a0Integrate quantitative or technical information expressed in words in a text with a version of that information expressed visually (e.g., in a flowchart, diagram, model, graph, or table).\u00a0In making an infographic, text and all kinds of graphs are used to explain a story effectively.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/RST\/9-10\/7\/\">ELA-Literacy.RST.9-10.7<\/a>\u00a0Translate quantitative or technical information expressed in words in a text into visual form (e.g., a table or chart) and translate information expressed visually or mathematically (e.g., in an equation) into words.\u00a0The students are able to gather text data and switch it to graph for easier and faster understanding of an infographic.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mathematical Practice K-12 (from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.kathyschrock.net\/2014\/01\/addressing-ccss-with-use-of-infographics.html\">Katherine Shrock&#8217;s blog<\/a>)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Represent a mathematical situation with symbols<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Use objects, drawings, &amp; diagrams to create an argument<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Map relationships using tools such as diagrams, two-way tables, graphs, flowcharts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Find digital content and use it to solve problems and use technological software and tools to do so<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Graph data and search for regularity and
