Make your infographic width around 800 pixels<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A huge problem that new infographic creators can run into is not getting their infographic size right for their blog dimensions.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of those things that you do not think about until it is too late, and then a lot of time is wasted already.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the time, the infographic is way too small, which makes the image look terrible when you finally upload it to a blog post or article.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or your readers can barely read the text, like on this page: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10305\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-1.png\" alt=\"infographic size 1\" width=\"700\" height=\"905\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-1.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-1-232x300.png 232w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-1-768x992.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-1-792x1024.png 792w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-1-730x943.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you encounter this issue, using an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artguru.ai\/image-enhancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">image enhancer<\/a> tool can help improve the readability. Let the content determine your infographic&#8217;s height <\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When I looked at the heights of all the sample infographics, the results were not as unanimous as the width.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, the widths of the infographics I looked at ranged from <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">377 pixels<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.socialmediatoday.com\/social-business\/104-reasons-why-you-need-advertise-mobile-infographic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">18647 pixels<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-8.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10317\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-8.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-8.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-8-300x199.png 300w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-8-768x509.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-8-730x484.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This basically means that there was not an agreed upon height for infographics in this sample. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I took a look at the average of the sample it was a very readable height of 5032 pixels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the median and mode pushed the height even lower at 4259 and 4300 pixels, respectively. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-9.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10318\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-9.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-9.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-9-300x199.png 300w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-9-768x509.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-9-730x484.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This makes it hard to recommend a perfect infographic height.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So I am not even going to try!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Our templates vary when it comes to the height as well. For example, this template has a height of 3600 pixels:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-10.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10319\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-10.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-10.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-10-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-10-768x427.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-10-730x406.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But this one only needs 1056 pixels: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-11.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10320\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-11.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-11.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-11-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-11-768x438.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-11-730x416.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why it\u2019s best to let your information determine the height of your infographic. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means that you should set a width of around 800 pixels and adjust the height as needed to fit all your text, icons or charts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or, to help keep your infographic size in check, start with a height around 2000-3000 pixels and then adjust as needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographiz-size-12.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10322\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographiz-size-12.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographiz-size-12.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographiz-size-12-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographiz-size-12-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographiz-size-12-730x410.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, when you run out of things to add, you have hit the perfect height for your infographic!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I know it sounds simple, but there have been plenty of people who try to make their content fit their infographic size and get very frustrated.<\/p>\n<p>So don&#8217;t be like them and let your content, the most important part, guide your infographic height. Not the other way around.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Let the purpose of your infographic determine where you place it in a blog post<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before you start designing, think about where you are planning on placing your infographic within your blog post. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After all, where you place your infographic could be the difference between someone seeing it or missing it entirely.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two things that you should think about before you select a position for your infographic:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. The size of your infographic. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. How your infographic relates to your blog post.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the worst things, in my opinion, is to insert a particularly long infographic in the middle of your content. Often, it distracts from your written content or causes your readers to not finish your article. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And the sample infographic articles I looked at seemed to agree. Right under the intro of your blog post, like we do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-15.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10324\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-15.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"924\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-15.png 771w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-15-227x300.png 227w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-15-768x1014.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-15-730x964.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0At the end of your blog post, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/article\/285978\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Entrepreneur<\/a> does for all of their infographics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-16.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10325\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-16.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"851\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-16.png 878w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-16-247x300.png 247w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-16-768x934.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-16-842x1024.png 842w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-16-730x888.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But based on the sample articles I looked at, <em>really<\/em>\u00a0long\u00a0infographics should be saved for after the written content in a blog post: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-17-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10326\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-17-1.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-17-1.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-17-1-300x199.png 300w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-17-1-768x509.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-17-1-730x484.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It makes sense; you do not want a 8000-pixel block of infographic between your readers and the blog content. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But there are exceptions to that rule, which leads us into the next question:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><i>How does your infographic add to your content?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your infographic is only a summary of the written content in your article, I would recommend placing it either after the introduction or at the end of your article.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kinda like <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Living Business<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> did when presenting their infographic below: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-18.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10327\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-18.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"907\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-18.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-18-232x300.png 232w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-18-768x995.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-18-790x1024.png 790w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-18-730x946.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, I would recommend not publishing an infographic on a blank page. Not only is this bad for SEO, you are going to have a lot of confused readers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I saw this more often that I thought I would, and was not sure why the content creators would do such a thing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, when should you put your infographic before the written content, you may be asking?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only when it will add to the written content without much extra context. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like Toggl did in their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">infographic about developer hell below<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-19.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10329\" style=\"border: 2px solid #ddd;\" src=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-19.png\" alt=\"infographic size\" width=\"700\" height=\"621\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-19.png 975w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-19-300x266.png 300w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-19-768x681.png 768w, https:\/\/venngage-wordpress.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2017\/06\/infographic-size-19-730x648.png 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toggl\u00a0use only a sentence or two to set it up and then let the amazing infographic speak for itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But if your infographic doesn\u2019t require any context, you can place it at the very beginning of your blog post. Use these examples as a guide but make your decision based on each specific blog post. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conclusion<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Now you should be equipped with some best practices for infographic sizing and placement within your blog content. But remember: these are guidelines. You will have to test out what works for your specific blog posts.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When deciding on your infographic size and placement within a blog post, remember these 5 things and you will be set:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1. Never set the infographic less than 800 pixels.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Let the content of your infographic determine its height. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. It is better for your infographic to be sized too big than too small.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Small infographics can be placed in the middle of the content <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. Large infographics should only be put at the end or at the beginning of a blog post. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Now you know what to do.
